Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.
Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.
The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they added.
Law enforcement then located many other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests show the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; officials are presently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they commented.
City officials announced they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the public for tips.
An important political figure stated the incident left him stunned and required to be resolved promptly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he wrote on online, referring to the death of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
